the favorite toy

Here's a recent clip of the twins playing with their favorite toy du jour; the Old MacDonald farm toy, which John got for them at a garage sale in our neighborhood. It has animal sounds, counting, music and lights, so obviously, life is good in Infant-Ville when that thing comes out! Anyway, Evelyn thinks all toys are her toys, so she takes anything Jackson is playing with away pretty immediately... and he is nice enough not to fight back. (But I will have to work on this with them as they get older!)

evelyn; she's a little c-u-u-u-tie...

In my previous post, Jackson had his own spot, so now it's Evelyn's turn. Both his video and hers were taken recently (mid-late August). There are several more clips just sitting in my camera, awaiting uploading, but it takes a while to do all that before uploading to the blog, and I can only work on it sometimes during naps and late at night, so... it's little by little!!!

foot in mouth

Here's a recent clip of Jackson getting 'eaten' by his daddy...

summertime

As summer draws to an end (it is ending, isn't it?), I'm posting a short video from early in the season, which was Jackson and Evelyn's first summer. In June, John put together a swing set and bought infant-toddler swings for the twins and they really love them (as you can see in this clip). Jackson especially likes being outside, though being in the swings relaxes both babies and the combination of swinging and fresh air often puts them to sleep, allowing John and I some quiet time to catch up and to enjoy a backyard beer or two together.

Looking at J & E, sometimes we wish we had infant-toddler swings in which to drift away under a blue sky too...

the dancing queen and joe cool

Well, here they are... a little clip out of their day, anyway. Evelyn's latest (since she was 6 months, I guess) obsession is dance, and Jackson, as usual, is less than impressed with his sister. The whole show came to an abrupt end when we were interrupted by the doorbell.

Evelyn is much more easy-going than Jackson, and everything she makes 'easy' he can make hellish. John and I are definitely 'paying' when it comes to him! He does have a wonderful sense of humor, though, and his timing is impeccable, as this clip captures. It does not, however, capture a decent singing voice, which I seem to only possess in my head (and in the car, perhaps), and this isn't really a good sampling of Evelyn's moves, either, but she can be subdued when she sees the camera; usually, the entire high chair/jumper/exersaucer is shaking when she gets going!
