after lunch

In this video, Jackson and Evelyn are just hanging out, letting me tape them after eating lunch. I fed them their baby food lunch and then reheated empanadas John had made the day before for myself... or so I thought! Even though he had to have been full, Jackson begged until he got, bite by bite, about 1/3 of one of my empanadas!

jumping for joy

This is a longer clip, and it is mostly going to allow viewers to experience Evelyn's intoxicating squeals of joy (make sure your sound is on), because it isn't that great a view of the twins' faces. Still, in this video, we have Jackson and Evelyn playing in their upright toy stations. It was taken this summer, so the twins were about 8 months old or so (can't remember exactly, but it has been a while).

evelyn crawls the hall

Jackson had his hallway-crawl on tape (see 'Jackson cruises hall' post from this month), and we filmed Evelyn the same day.

in the crib

In this little number, Jackson and Evelyn play in Jackson's crib while Daddy films and Mommy entertains off-camera. This is only about half of the full-length clip, and I may get the second half up later today or tomorrow... we'll see! I think I have finally figured out the output that agrees with everything else I use to post videos, so I think things will go a little faster from here on out.

third installment of leopard girl and overall boy

Like I said in my previous post, I don't ask questions. This was another edited clip that I couldn't get posted after many and varied attempts. It was from the longer part of two of my prior posts with Evelyn in leopard print and Jackson in overalls.

Note to the squeamish: at about 32 seconds in, Evelyn gets so excited, she spits up juice or applesauce or something. It is no big deal and she recovers nicely, but I thought a warning would be fair and just.

the little video clip that couldn't

So, this is the one I edited on Digimix Master to make smaller so that I could post it this summer. Somehow, I couldn't do it before, and have had no luck since with edited videos, but it seems I have 'accidently' been able to do something right with this one, so here it is. I don't ask a lot of questions...

if the Computer Gods smile upon me, I just smile back.

jackson cruises hall to kitchen

Here's a recent one featuring Jackson heading down the hall toward our kitchen. Daddy (John) is filming, and Jackson was open and willing to get up close and personal with the camera!

P.S. You hear me in the background telling John about actress/author Jenny McCarthy's child having autism and how she believes childhood vaccinations can bring about the disorder... I'd heard about it on The View that morning.

2 clips in one day... thanks, Motionbox!

I've learned to embed videos on Motionbox and now I really feel like I can get this blog off the ground! Forgive me, but I am entirely self-taught and though I learn quickly, doing things on the computer and learning by making mistakes is not as fast-paced as one might think - HA!

little leopard girl and corduroy overall boy have a chat

Well... I'm finally braving video uploading again after trying unsuccessfully to process another video for the last month or so. Still not sure why I couldn't get that one going, but I even tried to do it on another free blogging site and got an error message there (Blogger has yet to be so kind as to let me know something has gone wrong; instead I sit for hours waiting until nothing happens and make my own assumptions).

Soooo, here goes (maybe) nothing!

In this clip (taken about a week ago), Evelyn is wearing her entirely leopard print outfit from her Aunt Margaret and Jackson is wearing brown corduroy overalls from a really great children's 'gently-used' clothing store in Montana (also where Evelyn's outfit came from). I have several other clips of this, but I will give this one a shot first with more to come if this one works out.

IF
being the operative word...

the favorite toy

Here's a recent clip of the twins playing with their favorite toy du jour; the Old MacDonald farm toy, which John got for them at a garage sale in our neighborhood. It has animal sounds, counting, music and lights, so obviously, life is good in Infant-Ville when that thing comes out! Anyway, Evelyn thinks all toys are her toys, so she takes anything Jackson is playing with away pretty immediately... and he is nice enough not to fight back. (But I will have to work on this with them as they get older!)

evelyn; she's a little c-u-u-u-tie...

In my previous post, Jackson had his own spot, so now it's Evelyn's turn. Both his video and hers were taken recently (mid-late August). There are several more clips just sitting in my camera, awaiting uploading, but it takes a while to do all that before uploading to the blog, and I can only work on it sometimes during naps and late at night, so... it's little by little!!!

foot in mouth

Here's a recent clip of Jackson getting 'eaten' by his daddy...

summertime

As summer draws to an end (it is ending, isn't it?), I'm posting a short video from early in the season, which was Jackson and Evelyn's first summer. In June, John put together a swing set and bought infant-toddler swings for the twins and they really love them (as you can see in this clip). Jackson especially likes being outside, though being in the swings relaxes both babies and the combination of swinging and fresh air often puts them to sleep, allowing John and I some quiet time to catch up and to enjoy a backyard beer or two together.

Looking at J & E, sometimes we wish we had infant-toddler swings in which to drift away under a blue sky too...

the dancing queen and joe cool

Well, here they are... a little clip out of their day, anyway. Evelyn's latest (since she was 6 months, I guess) obsession is dance, and Jackson, as usual, is less than impressed with his sister. The whole show came to an abrupt end when we were interrupted by the doorbell.

Evelyn is much more easy-going than Jackson, and everything she makes 'easy' he can make hellish. John and I are definitely 'paying' when it comes to him! He does have a wonderful sense of humor, though, and his timing is impeccable, as this clip captures. It does not, however, capture a decent singing voice, which I seem to only possess in my head (and in the car, perhaps), and this isn't really a good sampling of Evelyn's moves, either, but she can be subdued when she sees the camera; usually, the entire high chair/jumper/exersaucer is shaking when she gets going!
